Farm Manager / Agricultural Instructor position opening in north eastern Maryland. A minimum of five years experience, to support a broad range of activities on the farm is required. The manager will be responsible for management duties as described below and the ability to teach and train beginning farmers to become versatile in a large variety of farming practices, i.e., permaculture design and implementation, raised beds, vertical farming, small commercial and urban farming, high tunnel production, square foot gardening, greenhouse operation and management, etc. The target trainees are our military veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however anyone having interest in the coursework is welcome to enroll.

The farm manager will report directly to the Executive Director. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the operation of a farm, including planning and managing production

Plan and direct activities such as planting, growing, and harvesting crops and the raising and caring for poultry livestock.

Seed ordering and material acquisition

Insect and weed control, fertility monitoring and general field observation

Cultivation activities

Infrastructure planning, creation and maintenance

This job includes a 3-story house equipped with a washer and dryer, hardwood floors, and fully equipped with all necessary appliances.
